The nodes and their connections were stored as cards in an HyperCard stack that:
communicated with our Webstar MacHTTP server through AppleEvents and kept track of individual browsing patterns using 'cookies'
- administered rewards to the connections in the network as indicated by the learning rules
- generated the on-line HTML documents (in accordance with the previously mentioned interface presentation principle of node ordering)
- saved the state of the network every 200 jumps in order to be able to track network developemt afterwards
- kept track and saved all browser paths
