Jean-Paul Van Bendegem has degrees in mathematics and philsophy. He made a PhD. thesis about finite mathematics. He presently lectures in logic and philosophy of science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Universiteit Gent. He is especially interested in the criteria that distinguish scientific knowledge from pseudo-science.
