Sequential Variety

(isa): metasystem transition

(has-properties): flexible, low-scale

(example): timed thermostat

Synopsis: A flexible, low-scale metasystem transition. In a sequential variety, unlike differentiation, internal variety increases without the replication of controlled subsystems. This is a deepening or infolding metasystem transition, where the single controlled subsystem has an increased range of variety.
