DYAD

(adjective DYADIC) A unit involving two related entities or a pair of objects as opposed to a monad involving only one, a triad involving three, etc. Social psychological studies of human communication that focus on sender-receiver dyads ignore relations of ordinality larger than two. (Krippendorff)
